Robbie Lockie

Robbie was born in Zimbabwe, Africa, where he started his career in digital design in 1999. He then came to London in 2000 to further his career in design, media and communications. He has worked with a variety of ethical brands, including Jamie Oliver, Getty Images and BMW UK. He notably manage the website infrastructure rebuild and relaunch for Veganuary in 2018.

In 2016 he also co-produced a short documentary, SWINE for Viva!, with Vevolution founder Damien Clarkson; and in 2017 edited Viva!'s"Hope not Hell" - the world's first vegan cinema ad; and in 2018 Viva!'s anti-dairy YouTube ad. He has been involved in a number of online campaigns, including 'Move Your Money', a charity helping to raise awareness about ethical banking. Robbie co-founded the online platform Plant Based News Ltd with Klaus Mitchell in 2017, to act as a global platform for change.

In 2017 Robbie, founded World Plant milk day to promote alternatives to dairy on the 22 August, Plant Based News teamed up with ProVeg. Now into its second year, World Plant Milk Day has been one of the trending days on Twitter with the hashtag #worldplantmilkday trending for days.

Robbie has given talks at Vevolution Topics series of monthly events, and also London's Vegfest, he has also spoken on leading vegan Podcasts from around the globe.

In October 2018 Plant Based News received a special award from vegan charity PETA at a London event. The Compassionate Business Award, honouring the work PBN does in spreading a vegan message.
