Devastating California wildfires have destroyed everything in their way this week, in what the media is calling 'the deadliest week of fires in the state's history'.

But in the midst of all the destruction, a heartwarming reunion between a dog and her human carer has made the internet deeply emotional.

According to the human companion, the dog ran from her family while trying to escape the flames surrounding the house.

After hiking three miles, the dog, who is named Izzy, was found - and the reunion that followed is truly heartfelt.
