UK retailer Waitrose has launched a new food range today called 'Good Health' - and it includes three vegan products.

The plant-based products include two sandwiches - Vegan Mean Greens, and the Sweet Potato and Chipotle Sandwich - which the store says are aimed at meeting growing demand.

In addition to the sandwiches, vegans can pick up the Mushroom and Miso Stir Fry Bites, which can be used as a meat replacement, and are high in protein as well as being a source of fibre.

According to the store, the Vegan Mean Green features 'crushed peas and edamame with cucumber, spinach and mint on dark rye bread.

It describes the Sweet Potato and Chipotle Sandwich as: "Roasted sweet potato and smoked paprika chipotle chutney with roasted courgette, peppers and aubergine, butter beans and rocket on sundried tomato bread."

The bites contain mushroom, soya and black turtle beans with miso.

The products are part of Waitrose's 'Good Health' range

Nathalie Winn, Waitrose Senior Nutritionist, said: "We’ve recently found that a third of shoppers find it difficult to know which foods to choose for a healthy diet.

"Our new label will help busy customers find the healthier options on our shelves.

"Introducing more creative options to your diet... will keep mealtimes interesting and help keep healthy resolutions on track."
