'Veganism Is Cruelty To Humans' Blasts Carnivore YouTuber

The meat-loving YouTuber told Plant Based News that he feels 'sorry for the babies dying' because of the misinformation around vegan diets - although his position flies in the face of nutritional science

A self-proclaimed 'carnivore YouTuber' has described veganism as 'cruelty towards humans'.

sv3rige, who has 65,000 subscribers on the video platform, protested outside Brighton VegFest this weekend. Gnawing on a raw pig's head, he was accompanied by a small group of around four other protestors.

Although his 'protest' has been described as ineffectual, with VegFest Founder Tim Barford saying meat-eating members of the public said 'this revolting spectacle had encouraged them to give up eating meat'.

Veganism and human cruelty

According to sv3rige and his fellow protestors want to educate people to the dangers of the vegan diet.

"Veganism is malnutrition," he told Plant Based News. "You can't get over 15 nutrients from plants. I want to inform people, I especially feel sorry for the babies dying because parents put them on vegan diets.

"Humans are obligate carnivores by nature. The [anti-vegan movement] is definitely growing because more and more people are quitting veganism, most of the anti-vegan are ex-vegans who realized that they were lied to."

Veganism is healthy

However, this belief flies in the face of modern nutritional science - with major nutritional boards saying a well-planned vegan diet is suitable for all stages of life. The American Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics says 'appropriately planned vegetarian, including vegan, diets are healthful, nutritionally adequate, and may provide health benefits for the prevention and treatment of certain diseases'.

"These diets are appropriate for all stages of the life cycle, including pregnancy, lactation, infancy, childhood, adolescence, older adulthood, and for athletes. Plant-based diets are more environmentally sustainable than diets rich in animal products because they use fewer natural resources and are associated with much less environmental damage," it adds.

"Vegetarians and vegans are at reduced risk of certain health conditions, including ischemic heart disease, type 2 diabetes, hypertension, certain types of cancer, and obesity."
