The Animal Rights National Conference has praised vegan celebrity Miley Cyrus for speaking out for animals, offering her their 'Celebrity Advocate Award'.
The event - #AR2018 - is the largest animal rights conference in the world & brings together over 1600 animal activists, food vendors, exhibitors, speakers, & organizations.
Every year the conference honors 'exceptional people' in the movement at awards banquet.
In a statement to Plant Based News, event organizers said: "The 'Celebrity Advocate Award' is given to a celebrity that has used their powerful voice to strengthen the movement.
"In the past, this award has been given to activists such as Alicia Silverstone, Moby, James Cromwell, Casey Kasem, Jackson Galaxy, & Bill Maher.
"This year the conference is hoping to award singer & activist Miley Cyrus for her amazing work promoting animal rights at the banquet on Saturday, June 30."
