Cyrus was speaking on Howard Stern's radio show last week, when she made the comments describing Hemsworth as 'incredible', adding that she had been away working in South Africa during the fires.
"He got all the animals out in his truck. He put two pigs in crates, which, I can tell you, is so hard," she said, revealing that the pair now live in Nashville, Tennessee.
"I think the hardest thing for both of us right now is to go back [to California]," Cyrus added.
Sharing a message about the fires at the time, Cyrus said: "I am one of the lucky ones. My animals and LOVE OF MY LIFE made it out safely and that's all that matters right now.
"My house no longer stands but the memories shared with family and friends stand strong. I am grateful for all I have left.
"Sending so much love and gratitude to the firefighters and LA country Sheriff's department...I love you more than ever."
