A new line of unisex cosmetics especially designed to meet the needs of transgender women has been launched - and it's vegan, cruelty-free, and PETA-approved.

British make-up artist Jessica Blackler, a self-described 'loyal LGBTQ+ ally', created JECCA MAKEUP in a bid to 'tackle issues like beard shadow and scarring'.

21-year-old Blackler, who noticed the mainstream beauty industry was overlooking transwomen and wanted to change that, has spent the past 12 months developing an animal-free range that provides coverage - without feeling heavy on the skin.

The entrepreneur told media outlet Curve Mag: "I want to help everyone to feel better in their own skin by celebrating their uniqueness and individual beauty."

Ashlee Ryan-Rose, a trial user of JECCA MAKEUP, explained why the new cosmetics line is essential: "When I started my transition I found buying make-up extremely difficult because of the confusion I was met with from sales reps.

"Jessica is giving trans and gender non-conforming people the ability to shop without judgement and receive products that have their interests, wants and needs at heart."

The make-up artist also has plans of creating make-up for genderqueer and male-indentified people in the future.

"Everyone who wants to wear make-up should be able to openly buy and apply it without fear of judgement or recrimination," she added.

"I want everyone to look and feel fabulous in their own body."

Blackler, who is known for supporting charities including Manchester-based transgender charity Sparkle, Umbrella Cymru, and Race Equality First, also founded an LGBTQ+ social network called 'The Tran Space' earlier this year.

Pre-orders will be available here from November 30, and anyone ordering before launch day will receive a surprise gift from well-known make-up brands.
