A new vegan dessert eatery has arrived in East Oakland, California.
Vegan Donut Gelato has taken over a space previously occupied by a dairy doughnut restaurant.
This is the shop's first Bay Area location, with its flagship spot being located in Modesto.
The vegan eatery stocks cakes, pastries like bear claws and apple fritters, gelato, and a wide range of doughnuts.
The doughnuts cost between $2-5 each depending on selection, and everything is freshly baked - without animal products.
By the end of the month, they'll 'have fourteen flavors of gelato on any given day' according to founder Al M., including flavors such as cheesecake, rocky road, and marshmallow.
Vegan Donut Gelato is open Wednesday–Monday (closed Tuesday) from 6:30am–4pm, or until supplies run out.
