A vegan chocolate Easter treat is the tastiest in the UK, according to a major blind taste test.
Booja-Booja's hazelnut crunch chocolate truffles (in an egg-shaped box) fought off stiff competition from 141 rivals in the test by the Good Housekeeping Institute.
The chocolates - made by the Norfolk-based artisan chocolatiers - was deemed more delicious than both supermarket and speciality options.
To pick the winner, a panel of judges scored shortlisted chocolate for taste, texture, aroma and appearance.
Booja-Booja's truffles - which are gluten-, dairy- and soya-free truffle - scored 89/100. Judges praised their 'smooth truffle filling'.
In second place was supermarket Tesco's Finest Dark Chocolate Belgian Egg, with Lindt's Classic Gold Bunny clinching third.
Caroline Bloor, Consumer Director at Good Housekeeping, said: "It’s clear that traditional retailers are having to do more and more to ensure consumers’ ever-evolving taste buds are satisfied.
"Seeing a vegan-friendly egg take the crown may come as a surprise to some, but this is why our famous blind tests are more important now than ever before."
According to Booja-Booja, this particular truffle has won 19 awards.
