The vegan cheese sector has seen significant growth over recent months - and that 'surge' is set to continue, according to new market data research.
A report by Market Research Future, says non-dairy cheese has 'witnessed substantial innovation in terms of new product launches along with research and development and collaboration'.
It adds: "Also, the overall disposable income of the consumer is increasing over the past few years which in turn leads to a surge in sales of non-dairy cheese during the forecast period."
The report says the increasing number of consumers opting for plant-based foods is 'directly proportionate to the sales of non-dairy cheese during the forecast period'.
It adds: "With changing lifestyle and evolving dietary pattern, convenience food plays an important role in defining the consumers’ food choices in the modern world.
"The consolidation and market concentration of foodservice industry creates multitude of opportunities for the market growth of non-dairy cheese market."
