The brand, which recently launched on the NASDAQ, has expanded its partnership with Zandbergen World's Finest Meat, which is currently building a new manufacturing facility in the Netherlands. The facility, which is expected to be ready in the first quarter of 2020, will mark Beyond Meat's first production capability outside the United States.
The company believes localized production will reduce its transportation footprint and help it bring products to its European customers more quickly.
The Beyond Burger is currently available in the frozen meat section at Tesco in the UK, as well as Delhaize in Belgium, and Albert Heijn in the Netherlands. It is currently working to expand its availability across foodservice in Europe, targeting popular burgers chains and restaurants.
According to the startup, its burger is 'one of the most widely distributed plant-based meats currently available on the market', distributed in Australia, Chile, the Hong Kong, Ireland, Israel, the Middle East, New Zealand, South Korea, and Taiwan.

"The consumer response in Europe has been very positive and we look forward to being able to better serve those customers with locally produced products," Seth Goldman, Executive Chairman of Beyond Meat, said in a statement sent to Plant Based News.
