Over the last 12 months, a number of stats have come to light showing a global shift away from traditional meat and dairy-heavy diets.
In tandem with the shift, many consumers are opting for vegan-friendly options like plant-based milks.
Here are some encouraging stats from the last 12 months.
A report published by market research company Mintel last March revealed that sales of dairy milk will continue to decline over the next two years.
According to Mintel, part of the drop can be attributed to a growing awareness around how unhealthy consuming cow's milk can be for humans.
As dairy milk sales continue to decline, plant milk sales keep increasing, with the market predicted to surpass $34 billion by 2024.

A poll released earlier this month suggested an impressive 10 percent of UK adults want to ditch meat and dairy.
Double that number - 19 percent - of UK adults said they will try a vegan or dairy-free diet this year.
The research, by Blue Diamond, also found that a staggering 28 percent of young adults said they will try giving up cheese and milk this year.
Non-dairy milk sales have seen a 61 percent surge since 2012, and are estimated to reach $2.11 billion in 2017, according to a new report by research firm Mintel.
Mintel research has also shown that overall sales in the dairy milk category have fallen 15 percent since 2012.
Megan Hambleton, Beverage Analyst at Mintel explained: "The healthy positioning and messaging leveraged by non-dairy brands has made an impression on consumers who purchase both dairy and non-dairy milk."
Last year saw a staggering 987 percent increase in the demand for vegetarian options in the UK, according to a new survey.
The survey, conducted by UK takeaway service Just Eat, has predicted that going vegan is set to be 'the biggest food trend of 2018'.
Just Eat Marketing Director, Edel Kinane, said: "The results from this year are a good insight into the future consumer trends, and while convenience will continue to be key for consumers next year and beyond, we know that they are increasingly looking for more diverse, healthy, gluten-free, and plant-based vegan options."
One in 12 parents are raising their children on a plant-based diet, according to a new poll by VoucherCodes Pro.
The study claims 'health benefits' is the most commonly cited reason behind the choice to ditch animal products - with 61 percent respondents opting for that answer. Around 35 percent said it is for ethical reasons around animal welfare.
All parents raising their children on a plant-based diet said they were vegan themselves.
George Charles, Spokesperson for VoucherCodesPro, told PBN: "The figures were higher than we expected."
