Burger chain Byron has announced it is releasing its first ever vegan burger - in a bid to cater to 'the UK's increasingly diverse dining scene'.

The burger - which launches on April 24 as part of a new menu - is called the Beetnik.

According to Byron: "[It] comprises a beautifully flavorsome beetroot falafel patty, freshly made to Byron's own recipe and topped with baby kale, smashed avocado, tomato, pickled red onions, red pepper ketchup and a lime-dressed rainbow slaw."

'Most significant'

Paul Mason, Head of Food at Byron, said: "This is our most significant menu launch yet.

"Byron has always been a pioneer of proper burgers and this menu aims to reflect the growing breadth of modern British burger tastes.

"Whether you’re a meat-lover, veggie, vegan or simply having a meat-free Monday, you’ll find yourself at home in a Byron."
