Plant-based doctor T. Colin Campbell and his son Nelson Campbell will embark on a tour across America next month in a bid to teach underserved neighborhoods about the health benefits of veganism.
The high profile doctor - and author of The China Study - will start touring on January 20 with Nelson, who is the creator of vegan documentary PlantPure Nation - and who just launched a media-driven movement strategy called 'Healing America'.
As part of the strategy, tour presentations will be live streamed and then edited to create a full-length documentary.
The focus of Healing America will initially be on health, but its long-term objective is to create a new model that communities can use to solve any serious social problem.
Considered by many to be the 'science father' of the plant-based movement, Dr. T. Colin Campbell will start off his coast-to-coast tour in Tampa, Florida.
Stops include New York, Atlanta, Houston, St. Louis, and San Diego - with more to be announced.
"It is time that we move to a more expansive model of collaboration; for environmental and economic reasons, we have limited time for making the change we are seeking," said Dr. Colin Campbell.
Nelson Campbell adds: "We will communicate ideas that go beyond health to bring people of varied interests and communities together.
"It is time to go beyond health, to make larger connections that can join communities heretofore working apart into a more unified force for change, including change that extends into the political sphere."

After the tour, a social action model will be implemented in a selected city to bring the message of plant-based nutrition to everyone in that community.
This model will include seminars and other education, affordable food delivered into underserved neighborhoods, and a powerful social network to build community and support local action.
"We recognize that this strategy is bold, but we believe we can achieve our objectives because we will not do this ourselves; our goal is to empower people in communities everywhere to lead," said Ron Gandiza, Campaign Launch Manager.
