Earlier this year supermarket giant Tesco launched a major line of plant-based foods in 600 of its stores across the UK.

Now Derek Sarno - Tesco's Head of Plant-Based Innovation - who created the line with brother Chad, has shared a sneak peek of some of the new products he is working on.

The line - Wicked Kitchen - currently features around 20 dishes, including sandwiches, wraps, salads and pizza. Sarno hinted the new offerings will include wraps, sandwiches, and a salad.

Taking to Instagram stories, Sarno said: "Been working 24/7 on some amazing long time ideas I've had to bring to market and though I cannot say what's coming just yet, rest assured we're bringing it!"

He added that he's working on updating the packaging of the range, as well as refining the existing items.

He said: "New innovation and the best mainstream plant-foward #freefromanimal foods to ever see large retail."

Sarno was secretive about the new recipes

Win Win Win

Speaking about the Wicked Kitchen range, Sarno told Plant Based News that plant-based options should pack punchy, bold, flavors - while still being visually beautiful.

He added: "They should celebrate what real food should taste like."

According to Sarno, the line is made using 'whole humble ingredients, ninja skills and techniques, and attention to detail' - and it 'just happens' to be plant-based.
