People between the ages of 16 and 24 (Generation Z) are consuming 550 percent more vegan milk than their older counterparts, according to new research conducted by Barclays in the UK.
Teens are more likely to consume plant-based foods, buying more avocado, coconut oil, dark chocolate, hummus, kale, tofu, and quinoa than Generation X - those born in the 1970s.
Research has also shown that compared with Gen X, students drink 33 percent less, and smoke 43 percent less.
The report revelead that Generation Z is consuming 266 percent more avocados, 667 percent more coconut oil, 138 percent more hummus, 166 percent more quinoa, 189 percent more sweet potatoes - and 550 percent more non-dairy milk.
Barclays has also found that herbal tea is up 171 percent, and coffee is 26 percent less popular among Gen Z.
