The UK high street is almost bursting with Christmas sandwich options - and now retail giant Tesco's offering has officially hit shelves.

The roll, which costs £3.50, is available from stores nationwide.

On a roll

The savory carrot bread is stuffed with bubble and squeak fritters, braised red cabbage, sage and onion stuffing, and vegan mayo.

According to Tesco's, the cabbage is flavored with apple, cinnamon cloves, and star anise.

On top of that, there is a nifty little sachet of coconut bacon flakes to add for flavor and texture.

Festive offerings

The roll joins the likes of Pret a Manger's Very Merry Christmas Lunch sandwich, which is made with granary bread, contains vegan stuffing combined with grilled carrots, crispy onion, caramelized pecans, spinach, and a Port & orange cranberry sauce.

Peckish Brits can also tuck into Boots' parsnip fritter and butternut squash sandwich.

Marks and Spencer has also put plant-based sarnie on its festive menu, with its Chestnut Roast Wrap, which features mixed grains and grape and cranberry chutney on a red pepper wrap.
