Seattle Seahawks Head Coach Pete Carroll has credited a plant-based diet for keeping him healthy enough to keep working, as well as making his arthritic pain go away.
The 66-year-old coach has been asked whether he will step down on a number of occasions.
When asked the question on 710 ESPN Seattle's Brock and Salk show, he simply said: "I'm not retiring, dude."
According to Carroll, he is feeling 'awesome'.
He added: "In the last 15 years, I've never been so healthy. I've never been so fit.
"I'm eating differently.
"A little plant-based turned me. I've had a whole turn. Body feels great. I'm jacked. So if anybody's wondering if I'm worn out or tired, that ain't the way it is."
The coach advises all pensioners to try the diet.
He said: "Plant-based, I will tell you this - put a little shout out - for all the people who have aches and pains and got arthritis and all that stuff that an old coach has, knees and ankles and shoulders and all that stuff.
"It all went away and I'm thrilled about it."
