It has been reported that Prince Charles, husband of Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, has regular 'meat-free days' in order to stay healthy and maintain his 'trim physique'.

The Daily Mail revealed the Prince's dietary choices after images of Charles in just his swimwear surfaced the internet - with people impressed at the 70-year-old's physique.

"Naturally, his diet revolves around organic food and he has regular meat-free days. He also likes to fast from time to time, which helps to moderate his weight," the paper states.

Whilst Charles has never explicitly spoken about going vegan, he has expressed concerns at the environmental impacts animal agriculture has.

'Earth cannot keep up with the demand'

In 2011, Charles attended a conference in Washington, stating: "For every pound of beef produced in the industrial system, it takes two thousand gallons of water.

"That is a lot of water and there is plenty of evidence that the Earth cannot keep up with the demand."

A 'destroyed world'

More recently, it was reported the Prince avoids certain tea bags because they contain plastic when he visited Poly material, a London company that has created biodegradable plastic. He also warned that future generations will face a 'completely polluted, damaged and destroyed world' if appropriate action isn't employed.
