Pret A Manger Launches New Vegan Menu - Including Sweet Options

The brand is meeting demand for animal-free food

High street eatery Pret A Manger is launching its latest seasonal menu in the UK on September 25.

The new items will include multiple vegan options including soup, sweet treats, and a hot drink.

The new sweet options follow the success of Pret's recently launched vegan cookie.

Vegan thumbs up

In a statement sent to Plant Based News, Hannah Dolan, Head of Food Development at Pret, said: "Our almond butter snacks are some of the most popular new items at Pret.

"Our Dark Chocolate & Almond Butter cookie (the vegan cookie) has had a big thumbs up from our customers. We're excited to introduce more chocolatey and almond butter vegan snacks."

Plant-based options

The new vegan options include Almond Butter Bites (£1.45), described as 'little bites of dark chocolate filled with smooth almond butter and a touch of sea salt' and the Dark Chocolate Salted Almonds (£1.45) - 'roasted almonds with a delicate layer of dark chocolate, a sprinkle of sea salt and a dusting of cocoa'.

In addition, the Coconut & Mango Bowl (£2.99), offers 'freshly sliced banana topped with non-dairy coconut yogurt and crunchy granola, finished with chunks of mango and pomegranate seeds'.

The soups on offer will include Pea & Mint and Tuscan Bean.

Finally, the Pumpkin Spice Latte is vegan if made with soya or a rice-coconut milk -  and those who bring in a reusable cup can get 50p off.
