Plant-Based Beyond Burger To Launch In 'Thousands Of Mainstream Restaurants' Across US

The company's new deal represents a cultural shift in the US consumer mindset

Plant-based innovator Beyond Meat has announced it will be expanding to 'thousands of mainstream restaurants' across the U.S.

As part of a collaboration with one of the largest American food distributors, Sysco, the Beyond Burger will be distributed to thousands of burger joints, restaurant chains, healthcare centers, and educational facilities.

The vegan burger - which is designed to look and cook like traditional beef - is currently sold at grocery stores nationwide. 

The new partnership with Sysco will see the innovative patty on the menu in tens of thousands of mainstream restaurants and foodservice establishments.

Cultural shift

Beyond Meat CEO Ethan Brown said: "We are thrilled to be a part of Sysco’s Cutting Edge Solutions program to bring The Beyond Burger to menus alongside beef at thousands of mainstream restaurants nationwide."

The plant meat company has noted that the deal with Sysco represents a broader cultural shift, as U.S. consumers increase their consumption of plant-based foods.

Commenting on the partnership, Sysco's senior vice president of merchandising, Brian Todd, said: "Each year, we evaluate emerging food trends to hand-select our CES featured productions. 

"Our exclusive distribution of the innovative Beyond Burger helps our customers appeal to a growing group of consumers seeking better-for-you products."
