New Documentary About Veganism And Religion To Premiere In London

A new vegan documentary which looks at veganism is the context of religious spirituality will premiere in London in May.

The screening of A Prayer For Compassion, at the Prince Charles Cinema in Leicester Square, is hosted by Plant Based News in collaboration with vegan zine Bright Zine.

Vegan documentary

According to filmmaker Thomas Jackson, A Prayer for Compassion follows him 'on a quest that crisscrosses America, and takes him to Morocco for the UN Climate Conference and throughout the Indian subcontinent'.

He asks the question: "Can people who already identify as 'spiritual' expand their circle of compassion to embrace all life, and make choices in alignment with this value?"

Vegan celebrity fans

The film has won support from a slew of vegan celebrities, including Harry Potter actress Evanna Lynch who said: "I was very moved by this powerful documentary and the many spiritual leaders spoke of the imperative to align our actions with our spiritual values and take responsibility for humanity’s treatment of animals."

Musician Moby added: "This film reminds us that no being should be exempt from grace, kindness and compassion."
