A major vegan meat brand is set to make its US debut as demand for plant-based foods continues to grow.
The Fry Family Food – or Fry's for short – range of vegan frozen and chilled foods is available in more than 30 countries around the world, including the U.K., Australia and of course South Africa.
What began with plant-based burgers and sausages in the family kitchen in 1991 has now grown into a family-run supplier of chicken-style strips, crumbed schnitzels, pies, pastries and more to independent health stores and supermarket chains around the world. All Fry's foods are vegan and GMO-free.
Fry's will debut its products in the U.S. next week, at the Natural Products Expo West in Anaheim, California.
"We get thousands of requests from Americans who travel abroad or vice versa asking what our U.S. distribution plans are," said Fry's Export Director Shaun Richardson in a statement sent to Plant Based News. "We are thrilled to be bringing our wide selection of healthy and delicious foods to America."
The company is taking a softly-softly approach to U.S. expansion, initially making favorites like battered prawn-style pieces, sausage rolls, gluten-free chia nuggets, hot dogs and burgers available to community grocery stores and small, independent chains on the West Coast.
Californians looking to sample what Fry's has to offer – and retailers interested in finding out more – should head to the booth #9503 in the Anaheim Convention Center between March 7 and 9.
