London's First Vegan Zero Waste Shop Launches

2017 has been a tremendous year for both veganism and the emerging zero waste movement in the UK

The first 100 percent vegan and zero waste store in London will be opening its doors this weekend.

Based in Clapham Junction and opening on December 3, Hetu will be a haven to South Londoners attempting to live a more ethical and sustainable lifestyle.

Hetu will be the first fully zero waste and vegan shop in the capital that boasts beautifully handmade gravity bins made from glass and metal - rather than their unsustainable counterparts, plastic.

Shop

The shop takes all the aspects of zero waste living, and applies it in a tangible way for their shoppers to live a more sustainable lifestyle.

Laura, the owner of Hetu, has chosen to create a store that is both zero waste and vegan, because she believes that animal agriculture is unsustainable and should be replaced with a plant-based diet.

Animal agriculture is one of the leading causes of deforestation, water shortage, species extinction, and CO2 emissions, and so it would be contradictory to her zero waste ethics to include meat and dairy products in her shop.
