A luxury hotel in Jamaica has opened its first fully vegan restaurant in Montego Bay, following the skyrocketing demand for plant-based cuisine.
Ital Café, in the Half Moon hotel, has partnered up with Dr. Aris Latham, dubbed as the 'father of gourmet ethical raw food' to create a menu that takes advantage of the Jamaican sun.
Tapping into the concept of 'sunfired food, the menu consists of dishes such as Jerk Eggplant Steak, Mobay Jack Seed Cheese and Viva Pizza, relies on the produce being cooked by the sun, rather than using 'high-heat processing methods'.
The café also grows its own fresh, organic fruit, vegetables and herbs in its cooking and serves cold-pressed beverages such as Sorrel Cooler and Ginger Lemonade, ensuring guests 'receive the best that the earth has to offer'.
Half Moon hotel states: "The café's innovative offerings are sure to attract both vegans and meat-eaters alike, for a meal unlike any other.
"Our café is being housed inside our award-winning Fern Tree Spa, known for its natural and holistic approach to well-being, employing international techniques."
