Social media personality Kyle O' Sullivan, who grew his following after his vegan rap went viral, has been jailed for 12 months for threatening his ex-girlfriend.

O'Sullivan pleaded guilty to putting a person in fear by harassment and common assault at Warwick Crown Court earlier this month. In addition to the jail sentence, he was also given an indefinite restraining order banning him from having any contact with his victim.

According to prosecutor Lucinda Wilmott-Lascelles, O'Sullivan entered a relationship with his ex-girlfriend in December 2017. In September 2018, he came to her home brandishing a claw hammer, and threatened her. He also reportedly threatened her dog.

A phone recording of the incident was played in court. O'Sullivan is heard saying: "10 seconds, 10 f*cking seconds.  Tell that bastard [referring to her step father] to get out here. You threaten me again, I'll stick this between your f*cking eyebrows.  Threatening me, you stupid little b*tch."

He left, but was to return on October 4 - along with his seven-year-old daughter - reportedly angry about a post his victim had made about him on social media.

In the recording of the incident, his highly distressed daughter is heard asking to leave. Despite this, O'Sullivan rants: "All I asked was for you to take that post down. All I’m asking is to stop posting stuff about me."

Although he left, he later phoned his former partner and threatened her further, saying: "I just want to hurt you so f*cking badly.  I want to strangle you so the blood comes out of your eyes. You are toxic, you are a poison.  I can ruin your life."

Protection order

At this point, the victim did not want to support a prosecution. Police imposed a domestic violence protection order, which was breached by O'Sullivan - leading to him being jailed for six weeks.

As a result of this, the victim gave recordings of the incidents to the police who arrested O'Sullivan in December. He admitted the two incidents.

Judge de Bertodano told O'Sullivan it was upsetting that he caused terrible distress to his daughter, saying the 'effects on her of seeing her father behaving in that way can only be imagined'.

Speaking about O'Sullivan's ex-girlfriend, she said: "It is clear from what you say that you wanted her to continue to live in fear.

"The other person who was clearly in fear was your lovely daughter who really ought not to have to listen to such a thing. The message must go out that however much you were provoked, if you behave in this way, repeatedly, you will go to prison."
