Italian restaurant Carluccio's will be turning the first floor of its flagship Covent Garden eatery into a vegan and veggie pop-up later this month.
In a collaboration with chef and blogger Anna Barnett, the Cucina Verde restaurant will feature more than 20 Italian vegan dishes.
From October 23, diners on the first floor of the Covent Garden's Garrick Street will be able to order Italian dishes from a wide range of plant-based fare.
Neil Wickers, CEO of Carluccio’s, said the demand for meat-free food has been growing due to millenials' dietary changes.
"We have seen a huge demand for more vegetarian and vegan dishes, many from our millennial diners who are giving up or reducing their meat intake, either for environmental and/or health reasons," Wickers said.
"Our new menu firmly puts the spotlight on vegetables and the Cucina Verde has been created to further highlight the variety of delicious meat-free dishes we now have on offer across all our restaurants every day."
On the menu, dishes include Polpette di pane featuring meatless bread balls of semi-dried tomatoes, garlic, capers and rustica olives in a tomato sauce on spaghetti; Pasta e fagioli - a traditional thick soup of pasta, borlotti beans and tomatoes from northern Italy; Orecchiette al cavoflore with cauliflower purée, sautéed kale, chilli and roasted turmeric cauliflower florets.
The pop-up will be running from October 23 and on the following four consecutive Mondays.
This follows Carluccio's recent launch of an extensive vegan menu across its UK eateries.
