Swedish retailer Ikea has announced it will be rolling out a vegan hotdog across its European stores in August.
The outlet, which is famous for its flat-pack furniture, is currently trialling the snack in its Malmö branch.
It is part of Ikea's plans to become more vegan-friendly. In 2015, it launched plant-based 'meatballs'.
Michael La Cour, Managing Director at Ikea Food, said: "Every year, 660 million people enjoy the Ikea Food offer, and we see this global reach as an opportunity as well as a responsibility to serve food that is good for people and the planet.
"With the new veggie hot dog, we can inspire and enable customers to choose a plant-based, more sustainable option at an affordable price."
He added that the snack will be tasty as well as more sustainable.
