Ramsay recently shared the dish with his almost 7 million followers on Twitter. He posted a video of the meal which features a vegetable wellington alongside roast potatoes, braised carrots, vegetables, and gravy, and wrote: "It's happened....the vegan roast has landed at Bread Street Kitchen."
Morgan retweeted the dish to his followers, saying: "Oh FFS, Ramsay... not you as well? This looks utterly revolting."
Now Ramsay has bitten back, slamming Morgan over his critique.
Speaking on the Late Late Show hosted by James Corden, Ramsay said: "So Piers Morgan is now a food critic?! Go and f*** yourself! Seriously?
"Vegan is on the rise, we've got to adapt and eat a slice of humble pie."
Ramsay's new stance is a far cry from his old anti-vegan position: before this, Ramsay had often spoken out about how much he hates vegans. Just last year, an anti-vegan joke he made went viral.
His tweet that was retweeted more than 43,000 times, said: "I’m a member of PETA! People eating tasty animals...."
Animal rights charity PETA soon jumped in to respond, saying: "Oh dear, Gordon. We’ve heard that old line before. A real 'hell's kitchen' is full of corpses and secretions from artificially inseminated, castrated, and routinely abused animals."
More recently, the chef has recognized how profitable expansion into the vegan sector is, and has expanded the vegan offerings in his restaurant.
Earlier this year, he launched a vegan menu to celebrate Veganuary, featuring dishes including wild mushroom and truffle risotto and chocolate avocado and almond mousse.
In 2018, the chef added a vegan pizza to his menu, creating media buzz by sharing an image of the cheeseless pizza, tweeting: "Going to give this vegan thing a try. Yes guys, you heard that right."
