Evening shoppers in the Portobello area of London have been able to fill up their ethical shopping bags at a Vegan Night Market for a while now, but from next week cruelty-free consumers will be able to walk around a completely vegan-safe Farmers Market.

"Gone are the days of having to walk past a hog roast as you enter a farmers market or have to unfortunately buy your fruit & veg next to the meat and dairy stands," says the event notice.

Instead, market-goers will be treated to stalls brimming with fresh organic fruit and vegetables. There'll be artisan traders selling vegan cheese and wine, plant-based condiments, bread, cruelty-free clothing and beauty products. And shoppers can warm their bellies with lunch supplied by three or four of London's finest hot food traders.

Where and when

The first Vegan Farmers Market will take place between 10.30am until 2.30pm on March 10 at All Saints Catholic College in St Charles Square, West 10. Free tickets are available from Eventbrite.

Regular Portobello Vegan Night Markets and Vegan Farmers Markets are scheduled for the coming months and beyond, but Plant Based Events is also planning to expand farther afield in the future – with Europe, the USA and Australia among the regions on the company's event radar.
