Finalists Announced In £100,000 Plant-Based Business Competition

The Finalists in a UK plant-based business pitching competition - offering the winner an investment of up to £100,000 - have been announced.

The Pitch & Plant competition - which was launched by plant-based events and media startup Vevolution in partnership with BRAN Investments, Crowdcube and BRIGHT - will see finalists make their big pitch on July 14.

The pitching session is part of the Vevolution Plant-Based Business Bootcamp - a new training event designed for plant-based entrepreneurs featuring some of the UK’s leading ethical entrepreneurs.


The seven finalists were selected from 56 plant-based companies that applied and will pitch to a live audience and panel of entrepreneurial judges.

The businesses include food producers, restauranteurs, creators of cosmetics, and more. They are; The Plantifull Food Co.,  FRUU, Purezza, One Planet Pizza, Boombox Club, and MACHACHA.

The judging panel includes Emma Sinclair MBE, Co-Founder of EnterpriseAlumni, Ashish Goyal, Director of BRAN Investments, Tom Smith, Partnerships Manager at Crowdcube, Sabrina Lipphardt, Buyer & New Product Development at Revital, and Paul Brown, Founder of BOL.

Speaking about the competition, Vevolution, Co-Founder, Damien Clarkson, said: "We're delighted to have launched the Plant-Based Business Bootcamp and Pitch & Plant.

"In doing so we are furthering our commitment to helping plant-based entrepreneurs obtain the knowledge, skills and connections they need to thrive.

"Pitch & Plant 2017 winner Optiat went on to raise over £200,000 on Crowdcube and we are excited to see what ethical businesses apply for this fantastic investment opportunity provided by BRAN Investments."
