The filmmakers behind upcoming documentary Eating Our Way to Extinction are looking for an ex-butcher to feature.

The film, which aims to 'expose the true cost of eating animals', focuses on issues around compassion, environment, health and economics. Leonardo DiCaprio described a viral clip of the movie as 'the video future generations will be wishing everyone watched today'.

A crowdfunding campaign for the film reached its target of around £140,000 in January 2017, and according to producers Otto and Ludo Brockway, they have been working hard since, with principal photography starting in August last year.

'Making meat edible'

According to the producers: "We're looking for an ex-butcher to take part in an exciting vegan documentary, Eating Our Way to Extinction, which looks at the great need for a global shift towards a plant-based diet.

"They’ll be asked to talk about the lengths they used to go to as a butcher to make meat ‘edible’ and ready for human consumption.

"The film’s pre-production trailers have been viewed over 43 million times and the production will eventually be released to a global audience."

A post by The Vegan Society added: "If this sounds like you or someone you know, please contact us at or 0121 523 1738 (office hours are 9am - 5pm Monday - Friday)."

Eating Our Way to Extinction is slated for release in 2019.
