The Breakfast Burritos will come in two flavors, both of which will feature Daiya's vegan egg scramble - which it describes as 'as tasty as traditional scrambled eggs'.
In addition to the eggs, one of the options features meatless beef style crumbles, seasoned potatoes, Canadian maple syrup and Daiya Cutting Board Cheddar Style Shreds. The other offers black beans, jalapeño peppers, sautéed onion, poblano salsa, tender potatoes and Daiya Cutting Board Cheddar Style Shreds.
Daiya has significantly increased its product offering in recent times, since it was acquired by global healthcare giant Otsuka Pharmaceutical Co. Ltd for a massive $325.5 million in 2017.
According to the company, consumer appetite for plant-based food is on the increase - and it wants to meet that growing demand.
Michael Lynch, interim CEO of Daiya said: "Plant-based is no longer a fringe movement - it is now mainstream. Today's consumers have an appetite for foods that not only taste great, but are also better for themselves as well as the planet. At Daiya, we're addressing this demand by unveiling the most expansive and crave-worthy portfolio of plant-based foods in the market."
