Vegan cooking duo BOSH! have scooped a major publishing award for their debut cookbook BOSH!.

Henry Firth and Ian Theasby fought off stiff competition from the likes of Yotam Ottolenghi and Tom Kerridge to take the Non-Fiction: Lifestyle category at the British Book Awards' Books of the Year - aka the Nibbies. They also picked up the gong for Best Marketing Strategy, and were nominated in the Best Publicity Campaign and Best Publisher categories.

Firth and Theasby's debut BOSH! was the first vegan cookbook ever to reach Number 1 - and it held onto the number 1 spot in the Sunday Times Bestsellers chart for four weeks, selling more than 100,000 copies. They recently followed it with their second offering - BISH BASH BOSH!, which features more than 120 plant-based recipes.

Vegan movement

"We're absolutely chuffed to bits to have won these two awards," Firth and Theasby exclusively told Plant Based News. "On a personal and professional level, it's fantastic and we're extremely proud, but what we're more excited about is what this means for the vegan movement as a whole.

"The Nibbies are basically the Oscars of British publishing, to have a vegan cookbook win two awards at such a prestigious event is an important moment for vegan food as a whole.

"We set BOSH! up to change perceptions and to normalize plant-based food, these awards are another step in the right direction and we're more driven than ever to continue doing our bit for the planet by inspiring people to eat more plants."
