'Bleeding' Vegan Burger To Launch At Mildred's Restaurant In London

The patty has been designed to smell, taste, and sizzle like beef

A burger created by a UK company and described as similar to the high tech Beyond Burger will be launching at London veggie restaurant Mildreds On February 24.

'Like beef'

It is made from coconut oil, wheat and soy, potatoes, and mushrooms. It contains beetroot juice, which makes it 'bleed' like traditional meat, similar to popular US patty the Beyond Burger.

It has been designed to smell, taste, and sizzle with browning on the outside whilst remaining red on the inside, similar to rare cooked beef.

According to Moving Mountains Founder Simeon Van der Molen: "Moving Mountains is a British brand launching the UK’s first ever raw bleeding plant based meat burger.

"This marks a huge leap in innovation for humanity and will allow consumers to bite into a future that is better for their health and the health of our planet."

'Can't wait

Van der Molen added: "We can’t wait to launch the Moving Mountains B12 burger exclusively at London institution, Mildreds and let people bite into the future with our plant-based meat.

"This launch not only marks a huge leap in innovation for humanity, by allowing consumers to bite into a future that is better for their health and the health of our planet, but also addresses a growing new consumer trend for flexitarian dining.

"Now Brits can have their meat and eat it without the environmental impact of the animal agriculture industry.

"Without any compromise on taste, the Moving Mountains B12 burger provides a viable alternative for flexitarians, vegans, vegetarians and meat-eaters alike."

The burger will cost £10 at Mildreds and will be available from the Dalston branch during lunch.
