Luxury apparel brands BCBG Max Azria and BCBGeneration have announced their decision to drop fur and angora from future collections.

Following three-year petitions from animal rights organization PETA and its sister youth group peta2, the fashion brands have finally banned animal furs.

PETA author Zachary Toliver said: "After learning about our appeal, executives of Marquee Brands, the BCBG brands’ new owner, let PETA know that fur and angora are now banned."

The BCBG brands now join other major fashion houses and retailers that have banned fur, including Gucci, Ralph Lauren, Armani, and H&M.
