A moving animation titled Dream shows four critically endangered animals singing to one of the most well-known Les Misérables songs: I Dreamed A Dream.

The video, which was created for the Wildlife Conservation Film Festival back in 2016, tells the story a blue whale, a rhinoceros, a brown pelican, and a baby harp seal, all of which face extinction from the damage caused by humans.

Dream features singers Natalie Bergman, Ryan Merchant, Keenan O’Meara and Tal Altman, and sheds light on the reality behind the fishing, poaching, and hunting industry.

360,000 blue whales killed in the 20th Century

According to WWF,  around 360,000 blue whales were killed in the 20th Century in the Antarctic alone. Most biologists consider them to be among the most endangered of the great whales, with a population between 10,000-25,000.

They are threatened by chemical and sound pollution, habitat loss, overfishing of krill, ship strikes, becoming entangled in fishing gear and climate change, the WWF state.

Last year, the animation won Best Music Video Award at ANIMAYO in Spain, and now has over one million views on Youtube.
