Shannon Elizabeth - known for portraying Nadia in hit movie series American Pie - is an outspoken vegan and environmentalist.

A self-proclaimed 'animal lover to the core and a conservationist/activist in the making', the American Pie star has been dedicated to animal welfare for a number of years.

Elizabeth's aim is to make a difference in the world, either through her acting and photography, or by speaking out for those who don't have a voice - the animals.

Animal Avengers

The 43-year-old vegan actress runs non-profit organization Animal Avengers, which has grown from its roots as an LA-based cat and dog rescue to protecting animals in both the US and Africa.

According to the organization: "We are all connected. We're all part of an ecosystem."

The non-profit fights for animal rights, and saves non-human animals through strategic collaborations, financial aid, engagement with policy makers, hands on work in the field, education, and tactical planning for the future.
