Cult donut brand Crosstown has announced it will be opening an entirely vegan-friendly outlet.

A social media post announcing the news said: "Vegan Crosstown is coming! A new Crosstown outlet in the heart of London [Marylebone], dedicated to vegan doughnuts and speciality coffee, seven days a week. Launching end of March."

In addition, the brand will be serving two new vegan flavors in its other stores - the vegan tropical compote doughnut, with pineapple glaze and coconut chips (available March 9-11), and the vegan forest fruit compote doughnut, with vanilla glaze and vanilla crumble (available March 16-18).

'Experimenting'

According to Crosstown: "We’ve spent months experimenting with different processes, techniques and ingredients to adapt our doughnuts to be vegan-friendly without compromising on taste, texture or quality.

"We want to move away from the misconception that vegan options aren’t as good as 'the real thing', and are excited to produce a vegan range of doughnuts for London that are every bit as delicious as their non-vegan counterparts.

"We know that any vegan alternative is always going to invite comparison, and we’re confident that our new vegan doughnuts live up to that comparison – they are the real thing, just made with different ingredients."
